Home Sweet Home

Today I am teaching my pattern "Home Sweet Home" at Taylor Sewing Centre. I made this quilt using an assortment of Whimsicals fabrics and I just love the finished result. I can't wait to see what fabric choices my students will have - that is one of the best parts of teaching - seeing how other people interpret my quilt designs!

Marilee's Quilt

Here is the quilt that I machine quilted for my Fibre Friend Marilee Taylor. I fell in love with this quilt while I was working on it - I kept thinking how it looked like a quilt that I would make. When I gave it back to her, I mentioned this to Marilee. She then reminded me how I had helped her to pick put all of the fabrics during one of the Open Houses at Taylor Sewing Centre!!

For this quilt I did a large free motion heart motif in the outer border, then a star motif on the inner border.
For the centre I practised using my laser pointer to follow a floral pantograph design.

Machine Quilting

Today I start teaching my next set of machine quilting classes at Taylor Sewing Centre. This time instead of taking 6 weeks, we are going to be doing it in 4 classes instead. I have revamped my class handouts and I am ready to go!!

Dyane's Quilt

Here is the quilt that I quilted for my friend Dyane - unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it after I had finished it. Dyane is going to be teaching this quilt at Taylor Sewing Centre this winter - you can check their website http://www.taylorsewing.com/ to see the course schedule.

New Year's Resolutions

My New Year's resolution this year (well one of them anyway) was to spend less time on the computer!! It's not that I don't like the computer - it's the exact opposite. Butt he problem is that when I spend a lot of time on the computer, I h ave less time to do other things. And if you are a computer person like me - you KNOW how much time you can WASTE on the computer. I spend a lot of time actually working on the computer, doing paperwork, paying bills, designing on EQ, writing patterns etc., but I end up spending a lot of time doing other things as well. Now that I am on Facebook, and buy on eBay, and write my blog, I could end up on here for HOURS - sometimes not going to bed until after 1:30 in the morning. So, I've decided to limit the amount of RECREATIONAL time I spend on the computer - and guess what - I've actually been QUILTING and SCRAPBOOKING and EXERCISING and REDECORATING!! I've quilted 3 quilts since New Year's - one for our guild president Jane, one for my friend Dyane and one for another friend Marilee - and I've got another one 3/4 done. We also redecorated the boys' room. So I guess my New Year's resolution is actually working - only problem is that I haven't posted on my blog for exactly one month!!
