More Fort Henry

Fort Henry is a great place to visit and if you go make sure to take one of the free guided tours - we learned quite a lot about fort life in war times. The kids decided that none of them would have wanted to live at the fort under those conditions.

Here Alexia and Carson dress up as soldiers:

Lynn and I decided that this would be the best place for all three - we jailed them for "disorderly conduct" but they were paroled by lunch :

A trip to Kingston

I was on vacation for the week that Lynn and Alexia were in Brockville, so one day we decided to take the kids to Fort Henry in Kingston for a little (fun) history lesson.
We got to meet the Fort mascot - David the Ninth:
We also saw a cannon race between two teams which was very interesting (and VERY loud).
Up on the ramparts we could see for miles and got to get up close to some of the cannons.

Our "baby" is getting bigger

It's been almost a month since we got our puppy Willow, but I think in that time she has almost doubled in size. Her paws are getting HUGE - and she has attitude to match!

Before she arrived Pugsley never played with any of the dog toys that we had - now he fights her for every one.
Our friends from Oakville, Lynn and ALexia, were down last week so they came to meet the wild new puppy - they fell in love just like we did!

Happy Anniversary to us

Well, 15 years ago, at this time I was getting my hair done and putting on the white dress to get ready to head to the church! Yes, today is our 15th anniversary. Here are some pictures from that wonderful day (which, by the way, was back when the month of July had SUMMER weather - not just rain and cold like it is now). It feels like it was just yesterday!

Our newest addition

So, everyone thinks we're crazy, but we just got a new PUPPY!!! She is a springer spaniel and her name is Willow. I may be prejudiced, but I think that she is the smartest puppy ever! She is only 7 weeks old and she is already almost house trained.
As you may know, we already have a 3 year old cat- Allie - and a Jack Russell Terrier - Pugsley - who we adopted last April when he was 2 years old. But ever since our English Cocker Spaniel, Casey, died last May, we have been toying with the idea of getting a puppy. We all love dogs and we felt that Pugsley was ready to have a more playful friend around.
We weren't sure how he would react, but after the initial shock, he has really started to show her some affection. He lets her climb on him and nibble his ears but he's not too sure that he wants to share his TOYS with her yet!
