I finally got my birthday present from my Mom a couple days ago. Even though she finished my quilt a week ago, it had to "make the rounds" and visit some friends and Taylor Sewing Centre (of course!) before I was allowed to keep it and put it on my bed. Here are a couple pictures of the finished product. It turned out great and looks wonderful on my bed! Pugsley (our Jack Russell) was the first to sit on it - he didn't like that he had to move so I could take a picture.
The quilt was so big that Mom and I had to hang it over our upstairs deck railing in order for dad to get a good picture of it.

WOW! Lucky you Christine - your quilt is just beautiful. I love scrappy bed quilts.
Good morning Christine and Happy Birthday (belated, I think)
I LOVE the quilt, your mom did a fantastic job! It looks gorgeous on your bed.
I have been following your blog daily since I moved here and you have had a very exciting summer!
I bet the boys love to see their adventures online. You have been keeping them very busy traveling and learning new things to do. Your new rugs are beautiful.
This is the girls' second week of school already, and Zach moves up to university this week. Hopefully next week I will have a little time to get the rest of the stuff unpacked and get working in my new sewing room.
I didn't see the point of these blogs before I moved, but it is really helpful to keep the news updated in one place and let people read if they choose to... lol
I miss you all too, and I miss getting excited about all of the classes coming up. There are no one-stop quilt shops around here, but there is a small shop that did a lot of classes throughout the summer so hopefully they will continue on into the fall. I haven't made any friends here (really haven't had time yet), but taking some classes will be a good start I think.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and keep up the great work on your blog!
Christa
